Dr. Jorge Moll is a native of Brazil. He knew from a very young age that he wanted to become a doctor someday to help the people of his homeland. He and his family reside in Rio de Janiero. In his professional life, Moll is an extremely busy man who has meetings all day nearly every day. In these daily meetings, he talks with a wide range of students, associates, scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs. Moll earned his MD in Neuroscience from the Federal University of Rio de Janiero in 1994 and then did his neurology residency there.
He then acquired his Ph.D. in Experimental Pathophysiology from Sao Paulo University in 2003. Since 2008, he has been a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. He currently serves as president and board member of D’Or Institute of Research and Education, which he founded in 2010. That same year he sold its subsidiary, Labs D’Or to Fleury SA for $750 million. Moll is also the Director of the Cognitive & Behavioral Neuroscience Unit and Neuroinformatics Workgroup. 2012 to 2013 he was a board member of the International Neuroethics Society.
Moll is committed to a future of continuous improvement of the Brazilian medical climate. He is ever searching to gain more knowledge of the human brain. He is also interested in A.I. and studying how machines and humans interact with each other. To this end, when he is not engaged in his many, many meetings, he is involved in the intense study of the brain. Moll is confident that he will be able to pioneer ever greater inroads to a knowledge of the brain (https://exame.abril.com.br/negocios/dino/em-conjunto-com-equipe-internacional-de-cientistas-jorge-moll-faz-experimento-com-torcedores-de-futebol/). He is interested in more than just the general thought process that goes on. He is interested in learning about how it processes emotion and how it helps operate the human form.
